I'm for story elements.
H [dec at 28] Remington Neil Wright
W [39] Marisol Celestine (Shay) Wright
-Bf [42] Silas Emmett Edington
D [20] Livia Simone Wright
S [dec at 1] Zachariah Chance Wright
When Remington and Marisol met, they were both nineteen, recently released into the world. Remington was far from his hometown, looking for something grander than what he'd left behind. He'd been scorned, an illegitimate child, for as long as he could remember, and wanted to start fresh, turn over a new leaf. Marisol had been the top of her class at the Westford Mage School, and was now looking for a place to use her skill.
The two traveled together for lack of company, slowly beginning to like each other. They married when they came to Daleton, where they now reside. Soon after, their daughter Livia was born, inheriting her mother's knack for magic.
Their life seemed perfect. They were loved by Daleton, and Marisol was a successful healer. Remington had started a construction business, seeing how primitive the Daleton architecture was. When Livia was four, however, what should have been a blessing struck like a curse.
The pregnancy was hard, so hard they wondered if something was wrong with either Marisol or the baby. Zachariah, their son, was healthy enough, except for his arm. The skin was black and he couldn't lift it, even after he was walking. Marisol knew what this was, and she knew that, no matter how much healing magic she had, their son would not have long to live. She hoped Livia would remember her brother, but not his death.
Zachariah Chance, who never had a chance, died at age one. Livia was at the school when it happened. He went peacefully but sorrow filled the home for many weeks.
Remington and Marisol did not try for any children after Zachariah. Livia was good friends with some other girls in Daleton, and some of their little siblings were like hers. Her magic is very emotion-based, allowing her to make people feel things.
Another tragedy struck when Livia was nine, and Marisol was out of town. Remington was on-site, and he was hit in the head with a large stone. It had dropped from a platform near the top of the nearly-complete structure.
Marisol rushed back as soon as she heard the news, but of course Remington was dead by then. The two had had a quiet sort of love, not a blazing passion, nor a feeling-less marriage of convenience. Livia was plunged into a deep depression that she still hasn't recovered from, even at age twenty.
Marisol sent Livia to Westford when the girl was eleven. Livia was to live with her grandparents for the time, and Marisol was planning to move back home. She ended up staying in Daleton, however, finding it impossible to leave Remington and Zachariah, dead as they were. She began a slow friendship with her late husband's assistant, the new head of the company. Silas was glad to help Marisol in her struggles, as Remington was his best friend. He was charitable, but subtly, as Marisol was not the kind to accept charity.
Livia was a lone wolf at Westford, but honed her magic, learned new skills, and picked up a handy arsenal of spells. She came to Daleton a year after she graduated, at age nineteen, to find Marisol and Silas there to meet her. She is shocked and rather miffed that her mother didn't dain to tell her about this new relationship. Marisol's defense is that they only started courting two months ago, which is how long it takes for a letter from Daleton to reach Westford.
