Isabelle is a French name that sounds like Isabel in English-speaking places. I don't see the point of not pronouncing it the French way, but then I don't think that would work, realistically. I find Isabel, and especially Isobel, neater and tidier and, yes, classier than pretentious Isabelle.

Mispronounced French names, where I live, are pretentious. Where you live, maybe not; I wouldn't know.

I would not say something with a French accent unless I am French. And I am not. I think it is more pretentious to force an accent that is not one's own. I don't think names are limited to the borders of their countries of origin either. Anyone can use a French name not just the French. When people assume you can only use names of your direct heritage it feels a bit xenophobic.
