I get a new pet, a male gold-banded dwarf tarantula I decide to name Tino.

Year Sixty-Two
Rodica and Edmund divorce! They both decide that, with their heavy workloads, they don't have the time they need to devote to each other to make the relationship work, and feelings have been dwindling for a while now. They stay friends, and are on good terms.

I'm not doing well mentally. Living alone has left me very depressed. I decide to start going to some senior groups farther in town. I volunteer with a "Big Brothers Big Sisters" type organization to partner younger queers with elders in the LGBTQ+ community. There, I'm partnered with a twenty-three year-old nonbinary lesbian named Astrid Maria Keating. Astrid and I become very close. They remind me a lot of myself when I was young. I also meet a bisexual woman named River Rhiannon Wildmeadow. River's also sixty-five, and a born-and-raised hippie. She was raised a Buddhist, claims to be a generational witch, and grows every thing she cooks herself. She's unlike anyone I've ever met, and I love her for it. River and I begin to date, and I quickly fall in love with her.
