In her youth, she was never a superstitious woman - quiet, sensible, and, despite loving her husband deeply and genuinely, not a romantic. On her 52 birthday, however, she had a distinct dream - her mother sitting at the foot of her bed, pouring herself a cup of tea without asking, throwing in three sugar cubes. She drank it slowly, without saying a word, looking at her cuticles more than she did at her daughter. When she was done, Frances reached out for the cup, but her mother shook her head, almost lazily, and said "Not yet. I will see you three years hence".Frances woke up to the sound of broken porcelain. She was calm and resolute, as she always was. She told her family, over birthday dinner, that she had three years left to live. They thought she had been told so by a doctor, but when she relayed her dream, they thought that she was growing a touch eccentric with the years. But it happened as she had said - when her maid came to wake her up on the day of ther 55th birthday, she found her lying in her bed, deceased from an aneurysm. Her funeral was well attended - loved by her family and society, and having outlived all her siblings by over two decades, Frances Lydia Cavendish, previously Ravenswood, née Edwards, was returned to the ground.Eli followed her to the grave shortly. His death had no apparent cause - for a man in his seventies, he was surprisingly spry. Upon returning home from the funeral, he said he felt a slight headache mounting, so he laid down on the chaise-longue. He never got up.Norah Rosewood died of a wasting sickness at the age of 42. Shortly before she died, she asked her nurse to open the window so she could hear the birdsong. It was a cold January, all songbirds long gone to warmer countries, but the nurse could not deny a dying woman's innocuous request. Norah died softly humming some aria or other. Her youngest, Alma, outlived her only for about two weeks. She caught a chill at her mother's funeral (which was attended only by Norah's daughters and sons-in-law) and never recovered, mourned by her young groom, who swore never to remarry. The Ravenswood children privately believed that their eldest brother, Jack, was not the marrying type. It was much to their surprise that he proved them wrong, marrying the well-situated and flamboyant Sabrina Wright - and even if the marriage was undertaken specifically to conceal the fact that neither Jack nor his bride are the marrying sort, his siblings are none the wiser. Alice gets engaged once more. Her siblings hope that she won't change her mind again, because they've grown rather attached to Archibald. Hugo marries Hermione, the young daughter of a neighbour, and a rather talented pianist. Peter and Sophie tie the knot as well.Daisy and Victor welcome three children, Elsie and Percy welcome two, while Nellie and Virgil (who tie the knot quickly after Nellie learns that she is pregnant with her first) welcome four. The Hastings siblings remain unattached, so far.masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079
