I know that “Rena” could be coming from the French word “renard”, but I’m not sure about “Renna”.

Maybe from Renée with means “reborn” they sound similar but don’t look it. Or maybe from Reina, which means “queen”.

"Born', as part of a name, would usually be a form of 'natus' or 'nata', meaning 'born' in Latin. And 're' can mean 'again', but then you'd only have one n: Rena. So that wouldn't work. Maybe a short form of Emerentia? (I know someone whose full name is Rentia.)

In what kind of context did you find it? It is a pretty simple word form that probably has different meanings in many languages.P.S. I just added a Germanic (Dutch and Frisian) etymology of Renna that is quite different from a derivation from Renate to the submitted names database.
