I'd prefer Gavriella but only slightly. I feel like it's easier to say - or it feels subtly less clumsy/awkward when I say it somehow? It's not like
Gavriel vs
Gabriel (I'd pick
Gabriel) which sound more obviously different to me; I'd say the vowel in the feminine versions the exact same way, but not in the two masculine versions, so it's almost as insignificant seeming a distinction as
Gabriela vs
Gabriella (I prefer
Gabriela).
I think they're both nice names although wouldn't realistically consider using either of them.
Shawn and
Shaun look equally uglier than
Sean to me, so really I'm indifferent, but
Shawn looks more obviously phonetic, and I've seen that a lot more than
Shaun, so I'll go with that. But I think I'd use
Shauna before
Shawna; it looks streamlined (also familiar, because of
Fauna) and more like its own name to me rather than
Shawn + A.
