[Opinions] Constance "Connie" & Queenie
WDYT of these two arguably dated names?Started thinking about Constance / Connie after watching The Promised Neverland who briefly had a young character named Connie. I think it’s still cute for a little girl. And Queenie! What do we think of Queenie?

I adore Constance, and am coming around to Connie. Queenie is atrocious.

Constance is too old and stuffy. Queenie is from Fantastic Beasts. She's very pretty and she can read minds.

Constance is an okay and interesting name I would never use. Connie is predictable but okay I guess. Queenie I don’t like but is okay as a nickname.

Constance is really growing on me, although I still balk at Connie for some reason. Right now I love the idea of a Constance called "Stan". But then, I used to hate "Winnie" for Winifred, and now I love it, so anything is possible. Queenie is really fun, but I think it might be difficult to pull off for many. I'd still be delighted to meet a Queenie.

Constance is OK, but unlikely to be used. Connie is also OK, but only as a nn for Constance.Queenie is awful. So is Queen, which I suppose is just another word name really, but it does sound very pretentious and silly. DH had to lecture once at a uni not his own, and one of his students was named Queen Elizabeth Lastname. She went by Queen Elizabeth, and he said it embarrassed him to call her by name.Does anyone know if Queenie originated because in the 19th century parents wanted to name their daughters after Queen Victoria but felt that Victoria was or should be her personal property. So they used Queenie instead, as a sort of nn not just for Queen but for Victoria. I'm sure I read that somewhere, but I've lost the reference and never saw it again.

I wouldn’t use Queen (well, technically, I wouldn’t actually use Queenie either, but if I had to use Queenie it’d be separate and not a short form of Queen). Also…
on the name comments for Queenie I did see someone write & source that Queenie was in fact used as a nickname for girls who shared their name with Queen Elizabeth or Victoria!

Thanks for that!

Constance is nice but I find Connie and Queenie unpleasant.

I feel like Constance on its own sounds too stuffy and formal, no?

Constance "Connie" is okay, albeit I don't like Queenie. Queen is one of those names that don't have any favorable nicknames and don't neccesarily require them.
