King John Edmund was taken ill with a fever in the spring. The best doctors could not cure him, and he died in late spring. John Laurence was crowned King the next fortnight, and swiftly married Countess Ethel of Bainbridge. Three years ago, Princess Mary was betrothed to and married Baron Baron Nicholas of Umbridge. Prince Edmund now retains the title of Crown Prince, at least until King John Laurence and Queen Ethel have children. He has made himself a good name in falconry and has pioneered several new techniques with great success. Princess Cateline has distinguished herself as a musician and plays the piano quite wonderfully. The young prince Robert Henry has started his education.
