Dorothy is married and Cecily bethrothed, they have to leave as they are now part of their husbands kingdom. Cecily is to marry a 14 year old Frankish prince, and Dorothy married a Venetian count. These are not as much love marriages as arrangements, and Dorothy and Crescenzo are not exactly in love but it was viewed as a beneficial arrangement. They both accepted knowing they could never marry for love originally. Cecily and Vespasien see each other as friends but just that.
