[Opinions] Re: Oliver
I like it despite myself. It feels serene, slightly retiring, modest, polished, fey. While there are obviously many Olivers strewn through fiction, the one I thought most suited his name was Oliver Manders in Agatha Christie's Three Act Tragedy: a handsome, self-conscious, Jewish aspiring journalist born out of wedlock (which, the novel being set in the 1930s, causes him much distress), hopelessly (less so by the end of the novel) in love with a spirited young woman known to her friends and associates as Egg, who I always thought was rather cruel to him.Ollie (the marginally better spelling) and Olly are dreadful. So slimy and glib.Combos:Oliver Basil Santander-Wood
Oliver Clement Santander-Wood
Oliver Edwin Santander-Wood
Oliver Isaac Santander-Wood
Oliver Laurence Santander-Wood
Oliver Nathaniel Santander-Wood
Oliver Quentin Santander-WoodI'd asterisk my favourites, but I like them all just about equally. Maybe a very slight preference towards the first two, as Basil and Clement are underused.masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079
