[Opinions] Old roommate

I…. I would never have said I liked this. But it’s just the perfect combo that kind of rings very nicely and I like it. I don’t even like Monica. Or Emerald. But together, I think it’s quite a lovely name.
Monica is ok, don't like Emerald
Emerald is very cheesy, and it's way too long for a mn.
Monica is very charming, and not too dated.

I used to consider Monica as understated but with some pizzazz; now it seems washed out to me, like mono. The change in my opinion isn't because it's dated - I still like the similar Erica. I think it's mostly based on the two Monicas I've known. I looked up to the Monica I knew as a kid; she was beautiful, athletic, kind, artsy. The Monica I've met most recently had a dead-end job and always seemed tired.
Emerald initially seemed clunky and odd to me, but I heard a journalist called it last week and was surprised by how sophisticated it seemed.
I don't like Monica Emerald as a combo. I think I associate Monaco, which combined with a jewel makes it seem pretentious somehow?? Idk. I think of princesses and costume jewelry.

Monica has some panache to it, it's "spicy" in a similar way as Veronica. NMS but its nice.
I love Emerald.
I love Emerald.
Monica is plain, but nice. If Emerald is cheesy, then so is Ruby, Jasper, Diamond, Crystal and Jade. They're all gemstones! I wouldn't use it IRL, as I like the sound of other gems better - but it is still a graceful and refined choice.
Monica Emerald is a delicate combo.

they are cheesy, except for Ruby.
