I used to think Yolanda was prissy, but I've really warmed up to it and all of it's variants: Yolanda, Yolande, Iolanthe, Jolenta, etc.Cynthia is pretty but it feels a little old. Maybe I'll warm up to it too after a few more years pass and it starts to feel vintage instead of old-school.
I dislike the YO in Yolanda - sounds like an informal greeting. Yolande, with the French pronunciation, is much better but unlikely in a non-Francophone area. Cynthia is preferable, though I don't think I'd ever use it; there are too many names I like better.
