I don't like it much for a person, but I did go to school with a Puerto Rican kid named Ivan who was really nice and everyone's friend.
There's a little kids' picture book called "Ivan the Terrier" a play on Ivan the Terrible, where the little dog keeps interrupting the narrator as the narrator is trying to tell a fairy tale, and Ivan keeps barking and making messes and running around. It's a really cute name for a terrier.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
