In my case, using Emily would be a sign something has truly gone wrong in a relationship because it's so pedestrian XD I like Emily don't get me wrong but I'd be hard pressed to use it as a first name. If I used Emily I will have offered the wind and sky of the classical naming spectrum before arriving to it in a pitiful state of defeat. My true compromise name would lie somewhere in the scope of unusual but not unheard of in my RL community, which is still fairly conservative but still..
