[Games] Re: Victorian Era Generational CAF - Part 1
Here's what I'd choose! The Victorian era was a period in British history running from 1837 to 1901. This generational CAF will follow one family in Victorian Sheffield throughout this era.Malcolm Turner is a somewhat self-important but very talented blacksmith and farrier living in Sheffield. In 1826, at the age of 22, he meets 20-year-old Clothilde Baker, a physician's daughter, and they fall in love quickly. The two are fairly well-off and get married in 1827. The two purchase a modest yet beautiful home in the city. During the day, Clothilde mends clothing items for a small fee and attends teas in the afternoon with several good friends of hers. Only a year after their marriage, she gives birth to a beautiful baby boy with curly brown hair.DH (1804): Malcolm Cyrillus Turner
DW (1805): Clothilde Diana Jean Turner, née Baker
DS1 (1828): Phillip Aeneas Hye Turner "Pip"A year after Phillip's birth, Clothilde finds out she is pregnant once again. In the spring of 1830, Malcolm and Clothilde welcome Octavius, their second son. Octavius is such a happy, easy baby, and both parents are thrilled. Shortly after his birth, Clothilde's mother falls ill and passes away. The family mourns - Clothilde was especially fond of her mother and misses her dearly. Clothilde's father is also grieved and moves to Sheffield to be nearer to Clothilde, his only surviving child. He becomes a household presence and a wonderful grandfather to Pip and Tave.DS2 (1830): Octavius Albany John Turner "Tave"Over the next few years, Clothilde gives birth to another healthy baby, a girl. They name her Esther. The family is thrilled - they feel complete with so many children in their home, even though money has become a little more tight as the children have aged. Clothilde begins dressmaking in the family's attic to earn a little extra money, and in 1837, she becomes pregnant again, this time with twins. The birth process is arduous, but Clothilde eventually gives birth to two small babies, a boy and a girl. She never fully recovers from the birth and passes away three months later. The family is devastated and ten-year-old Phillip leaves school to begin peddling newspapers on the street.DD1 (1832): Esther Morrigan Grace Turner "Estie"
DD2 (1838): Isabeau Lilibet Kate Turner
DS3 (1838): Miles Leonidas George TurnerMalcolm and Clothilde Turner with Pip, Tave, Estie, Isabeau, and Miles TurnerPip is, at 14, apprenticed to his father and begins work as a blacksmith. The other children attend school. In 1852, Pip marries his childhood friend, Prue Jackson. He now co-owns the blacksmith shop with his father, who is getting older and finds it harder to work. Pip and Prue have only one child together: a brilliant and evidently intelligent girl named Enid. Phillip sends his daughter to a special girls' boarding school to learn mathematics and science. She thrives there and develops an interest in chemistry. When she graduates, she begins reading scientific journals and is apprenticed to a scientist and professor in Cologne, Germany, who is willing to allow her to use his laboratory. She becomes heavily influential in the sphere of science, despite her gender, publishing most of her findings under her professor's name.DH (1828): Phillip Aeneas Hye Turner "Pip"
