It tends to remind me of water cress and also gold because I know the meaning.

It's interesting without being flashy, but if I wanted a Cres* name, I'd prefer the meaning and NNs of Kreszentia.

I think you're associating Cressida with a cicada. The American pronunciation of cicada is different from the British pronunciation.

I like it a lot, and I don't mind the character in Greek literature, amplified by Chaucer and Shakespeare: quite a tribute, actually, to be the inspiration of those two. But, it was the name of a Toyota model, and that does deter me.

I like this name, both the sound and the meaning, and I absolutely love the association with chrysanthemums! But I don’t really like the literature references though.
