People are genuinely naming their children Stalin??? Mother of Christ that is so horrifying and disrespectful (and without saying anything too political, I'm a die hard lefty and I have thought over the past years that the left in the UK, maybe in general across the world, has lost its way and also given voice to dangerous people who will deny that anyone other than ultranationalistic right-wingers have ever done anything wrong... again, as a really rather left-wing person, I'd say, for pete's sake please read some history books). That is so awful.
I know names like Marlen exist, but they aren't quite as blatant and ignorant as naming your kid bloody Stalin (and I'd argue don't carry quite as much blatant horror).
Some of these are so cringe..Alias? Arson? Casanova? Chaos? Dominance? Do these people realise their kid is gonna have to...like...introduce themselves to people without wishing the ground would open up beneath them? "Hi, I'm Handsome" "Yeah, sure you are". Also, Kovid is just cruel, I mean... a lot of people have died and been bereaved in the last 2 years, covid is not a joke.
I'd probably go for Tolkien, unless something I don't know about him means he's an awful person... my association is 'dude who wrote fantasy books so many people love', so that's the best association in the bunch imho. If it turns out he was a terrible person (I'm not aware of anything?) I'd go for Barley, that seems the second less cringey/loaded name.
I'd name a cat Mayhem, it'd have to be a black-and-white cat with corpsepaint markings, preferably one with a bad attitude.
