In Afrikaans, malva is the word for marshmallow: you can see that it's the same word as mallow, originally. It's also used for a kind of dessert, a cake mixture served hot with a hot cream sauce poured over it. The v in Afrikaans sounds like f, and w like v; Malwina would sound like Malvina as pronounced by a speaker of English.It doesn't sound remotely human to me, though I did know someone whose nn was Malva.
