It will never really seem youthful to me even though I've met several young Lillians. My stepfather's mother is named Lillian and she's 94 (and sharp as a tack) and the name just feels like it's every one of those 94 years old itself.
But it's at least got more spine than Lily.

I don't know about that ...
Charlotte's a pretty "strong" sounding name to me, and in fact, Evelyn feels that way too. And of course there's Harper, and Brooklyn; Brooklyn pretends to be soft but actually feels hard enough to roller-skate on.

We're definitely in the middle of a trend of the flimsier and more perpetually child-like, the better. (Not all the popular girl names of course but a "decent" percentage)
