Sort-of I think of Jerry as a nickname name. Gerald sounds old-fashion to me. Jeremy sounds more millenial. Jeremiah could be any age. There are probably other names I can't think of.
Tom & Jerry cartoons are the other association. You'd be surprised how people still know Tom & Jerry.
