[Opinions] Jane vs. Jean
Which one and why? What would you use as a middle name and what would you name a brother and sister? **After supposedly dying on January 30, 2007 after eating tainted pancakes, she returned several times as an angel and was revealed to be alive on May 17, 2011. )**

Jane. Though, Jean has a older, classic Hollywood feel.Jane and Jean are both good for middle names, but Jane seems more natural.

JeanI would use Jean. Jean sounds like someone who would be up for a good time and who likes to be active. Jean Louise is very "To Kill a Mockingbird," but I like the pairing anyway, so I'll go with that.
Jane feels a bit tired and like a quiet mousy sort who is seen and not heard.I would resist the urge to name her brother Levi since Levi Jeans wouldn't be funny for long. Ezra might work. Delaney is one of the few surnames as first names that I really like for a girl, and it has similar energy to Jean. Siblings: Jean, Ezra & Delaney

I would use Jane for a girl. Can be first or middle.
Jean is an old lady name and would never use.bd

Jean seems a tad fresher though they are both tried and true. For siblings, how about mixing it up with girl Jane and boy Gene?

I prefer Jane, but only marginally, and I'd use Jean for family reasons, in DH's family and mine. Or I might try to achieve Jean through the back door, and use Georgina.Georgina Sally RuthJean Penelope Clare

I like them both, so I'm not sure, but I'll go with Jean for now because Jane seems more British.

Jane all the way.Jean has never, ever appealed to me. Even with my love of To Kill A Mockingbird back in junior high, I didn't like Scout's real name. (Louise eventually grew on me, and then Louisa.)Jean is... well, jeans. (And Gene is "genes," which is why I don't like Gene either.) Not to mention that Jean is also a French masculine name; but the more feminine Jeanne doesn't appeal either because it sounds the same in English.Jane used to be "plain" to me, when I was a kid, but I eventually came to love Jane's unforgettable simplicity.Edit: I forgot the second part of your question. Here's my sibset:Jane Alexandra
Cara Genevieve
Luke Edmund James

I like Jane more, mostly because I prefer the 'ay' sound. Jane Ariadne, Sally Zenovia, & William Horatio.

JaneIt seems fresher, somehow, more timeless and open. A gentle dove grey as opposed to Jean's deep denim blue, but I like both.Jane Sophronia, sister to Peter Felix and Amy Leocadia
