Jessica. It seems less dated to me than Jennifer, though I don't particularly like either of them.

By default..
I'd have to name her Jennifer since my name is Jessica.

I like them both, but I've liked Jennifer more and for longer.
Jessica, Jennifer is even more dated.
Jennifer
I knew far too many Jessica’s growing up.

I like it and can't say the same of Jennifer. No particular reason. Or I guess Jennifer might sound a bit plastic to me, like I imagine a barbie (not for lack of familiarity - this is despite having met many personable Jennifers), while Jessica probably reminds me of names like Jesse and Erica, which I generally get more wholesome/likable vibes from.
I do like Jen and Jenny but not any more than Jess or Jessie, so.

Jessica
It's prettier, Shakespearean, and I prefer Jess to Jen /Jenny. I know you said no nicknames but in the real world, even if you don't like the nickname, you have to consider someone would use it.

Jennifer
Jessica has a trashy reputation here.

Ehhh. Jessica is a pretty name and I like its connections to Dune, but it's a "bully" name to me as well. Jess is also cute, but imagining myself with a Jessica for a daughter gives me the willies.
I wouldn't be super happy about it but I guess I'd use Jennifer. One of my oldest and best friends is a Jennifer so I think of her first, and it gives the name some warmth and personality. A Jennifer just sounds like a nicer person than a Jessica (to me). She'd have to have a really weird or sweet middle name to make up for it. Maybe something starting with an N so it becomes "Jennifer N____" and I would call her "Jennifern" sometimes. Jennifer Nancy maybe? Cuuute.

I like Jennifer and I’m sad it’s still considered so dated because I would totally use it otherwise. So I would choose Jennifer.
Jessica is way too popular here.

Jennifer. I like it just a bit more than Jessica.
Jessica ...
I actually would use this if I didn't have a good friend named Jessica. I don't like the name Jennifer at all, and anyway, I have a cousin named Jennifer.

Jessica. At least it's Shakespearean. Plus, the "-fer" ending is not very appealing to me.
Jessica. It's not the worst. I vastly prefer it to Jennifer though.
