Barbara. I thought I'd hate that name forever, but now I love it.

María. It's the second most common name in my country. We also have combinations like Ana María, María José, María Dolores, María Teresa, etc. They're considered as compound names, but the bearers usually go by María.At first, I disliked that it was too common; however, I found its charm on the pronunciation and writing.

Esme. I thought it was bratty and ugly, but now it is beautiful.

Victoria… Vivienne… May… Kelsey… Rae (as a middle only)… mostly all girls names. I used to have very odd taste in girls names…
I actually used one of them for my daughter. I never thought much about it until I was reading a book, before I got pregnant with her. Somewhere in the book was a “beautiful little girl with blonde ringlets and green eyes” (it reminded me of pics from when I was little… my mom always had my hair curled and I had green eyes) and for some reason it stuck with me. I suggested it to DH when we found out we were having a girl, along with about 20 other names I liked.
I think I was being somewhat hopeful she might look something like me! All of our kids looked exactly like DH and his family.
We decided on her given name and he picked her other, and told me when she was born. (I asked him to keep it a surprise, as long as he chose it from the list of names I really liked).
She still looks nothing like me, has big beautiful brown eyes, but she did end up with blonde hair. And I curl it a lot :)

The funny thing is, I never liked the name Charlotte (I always thought it was boring) until recently when I rewatched a movie I had seen a hundred times before where there’s a minor character named Charlotte. I don’t know why, but suddenly I started loving this name.

Most recently? I think Guillermina. Within seconds I went through this:
Now it's on my PNL! In my Guilty Pleasures list, but still lol

Agatha and Agnes. Beautiful names. So classy and intelligent. For boys, it would have to be Niall, and Zeus. If you told me I would ending up loving those names circa 3 years ago I would’ve never believed you.

I love that a book changed your mind.

The big name for me is Amanda. I hated it when I was growing up, because there were a lot of them, and it came across as a very snotty kind of name. Now, I love it and I think it's very pretty. I would seriously consider it as a middle name IRL, if I wanted to have a kid.Shane is the male equivalent. I like the name Shane, I just can't hate it no matter how hard I try (I don't try).
