Where on earth did they derive that meaning from? I admire people's creativity.
True is one of my GP names, by Truett makes me think of truant. I guess it's kind of fun, but I wouldn't want to be one.

Was the last name Earls, by any chance? I know this YouTube family Earls with a son Truett.
I've met one and kind of like the sounds. It was spelled Truitt.
Oh my. People will believe whatever they want to if they also trust the source. Truett blew it? if the horse is named Truett, just shoe it. Whyever did they do it?
DH's aunt, very old and with the beginnings of Alzheimer's, went to church and heard the minister say (NB I'm not going to swear that he actually did; but she heard it) that Gary meant Darling or something close - Beloved or something. And since this is her great-nephew's name, she waxed lyrical about its appropriateness, in which she saw the Hand of the Lord. I looked polite and interested. If it made her happy, why not? But it's a major feat of imagination!

Hilarious! This person went on about how Truett had a lot to live up to!
