According to the page, Cassidy is "From an Irish surname that was derived from Ó Caiside meaning "descendant of Caiside"."

So my question is, which would you prefer? Do you prefer the more familiar Cassidy or would you prefer the older Caiside?

And for which gender?

If you don't like the name, which spelling would you prefer regardless? (you can still comment on the name, however)

Cassidy, feminine, though it'd be refreshing on a boy. I like the meaning, but not the sound. It has a similar vibe to Kennedy.

I vastly prefer Caiside and on a man. I just have never liked Cassidy. Maybe because I went to school with a few.

How would you pronounce Caiside? I may like Caiside better just because it's not so common, but I like the name Cassidy well enough.
