I don’t hate it, but it does sound a bit like a cross between “emu” and “lemur”. It definitely has a contemporary feel with the Em- sound at the beginning and the y in there. I could see it catching on.
It makes me think of the United Arab Emirates with Emir and Emyr both meaning “king”/“ruler”. That’s neither good nor bad from my perspective, it’s just a thing.
