I like it for a character name. I would never use it in real life.

For the longest time, I thought it was pronounced a-LOY-zee-us. Aloysius is very swishy. It reminds me of Sebastian Flyte's teddy bear in "Brideshead Revisited".

Very Germanic. Feels more like a hand-me-down family name.
