[Opinions] Silver

I’m inclined to say boy, but I don’t really see it as a name.
Unisex, in style of Saylor (f) or Golden (m). Or like Quicksilver, from X-men. There was a thread on it last week.

I love this name! I'm always surprised it's not more popular, as a first or middle. I prefer it for a girl.
A former boyfriend of mine had a male coworker who called himself Silver. In the nineties. The guy was really nerdy... but, in a squicky way, not a cool way. So my first thought is, a pseud for a creepy nerd.
Then I compulsively go, HI HO SILVER, AWAY! and it's just too funny to contemplate.
I think it could work alright as a modern name for a gal, actually. An offbeat bling name, like Garnet or Topaz.
I think it'd seem droll on a guy though. Weird cowboy-theatre effect.
I like Silvan for a guy.

I've said ti before, and I'll say it again: Silver is a name for a horse, not a person.
I absolutely love this name for a girl, but can’t really picture it on a boy.
