[Opinions] Re: Rosemary
It's nice but a really annoying youtube that I unfortunately came across a while ago has a daughter named Rosemary called Rosie so I dislike it (nothing against the child, she is lovely, but I wouldn't want to be associated with that youtuber). She also ruined Acacia and Brinley for me (which I thought was one of the nicer trendy names). In general I like it but I really dislike Rosie. Just Rosemary is nice or Rose. Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

Why are y’all out here watching channels that annoy you enough to actually build repulsive associations with the names?? It’s not like YouTube is broadcast into your living room. You have to click proactively.

I watched one of her videos (something about Christmas presents). It was recommended to me because the youtube algorithm is nuts (I always get stuff about horses recommended too even though I don't have a particular interest in them and family vloggers which I despise) and before I realized that the recommendations don't match my interests I watched them sometimes to see what they were about. I watched that video ages ago (I think almost two years ago?) and I still remember the names because they were unusual and stuck with me but I still wouldn't want a name associated with her.I also sometimes look up teen-mom and vlogger baby names to see what they used even though I don't watch them/the show because I want to know what to avoid. The names often become extemely popular and fad-like in a short time which is something I want to stay away from. The weirdest youtube recommendations I ever got were several videos in which a 20-something woman pretends her baby doll is her child and makes her dinner etc.And I know they are supposed to be based on your like/dislikes, watch history etc. but it doesn't work out for me at all. I am interested in cooking, recipes, dogs, sleep stories, study youtubers and Japanese language channels but I always get family vloggers and something about the royal family and Boris Johnson :(

I see! I hadn't imagined a name could get stained from one video, but I suppose it happens!Youtube algorithms, man...

Unfortunately it did spoil the names for me quiete a bit even though it is most likely because I know no other Acacias or Rosemarys. If they had been named Caitlin and Sarah or something it wouldn't have bothered me. Still, there is a chance of me liking them again if I meet a great Acacia, for example.I have this problem in general, I once named two Sims characters Melody and Cecily (which I both loved at the time) and the characters were so annoying that the names started bothering me after a while hahaha so I never give Sims favorites of mine anymore (haven't played the game in quite some time).

Yeah, I had a childhood friend named Rosemary who wanted to be called Rosie as she got older. I always just called her Rose. Rosie felt too saccharine on top of her over-the-top cheery personality tbh. No one called her Rosie until she started introducing herself that way. As a child, everyone I knew either called her by her full name or shortened it to Rose.I've always loved the name Rosemary nn Rose ever since I first heard the name in kindergarten. I love the herb imagery and the fact that it's an underused classic. Ro and Romy could work as nns too. However I'm not sure I'm in love with the "Mary" ending, and I've been going back and forth lately over which Rose variant name I prefer (Rosalie, Rosalia, etc...)

Crap...I completely forgot about that YouTuber until you mentioned her. I didn’t know her name was actually Rosemary. I thought it was just Rosie full stop. I don’t like the Acacia association though. Very bad mother she is. Then again; that can be applied to a good amount of family vloggers.I do agree that Rosemary or Rose is better though.
