I've been smitten by this name lately. Generally speaking I don't really care about word names, let alone gemstone names, so Emerald is definitely a guilty pleasure to me.What do you think of Emerald? Which names would you pair it with? Here are my combos with Emerald (feel free to comment them, too):Emerald Alice / Alix

Emerald Sylvia
Emerald Viveca

I like it!Emerald Alix is interesting!
Emerald Florence is nice
Emerald Sabina and Emerald Vivien are my favorites of these, those are the kind of names I'd pair with Emerald.
Emerald Sylvia and Emerald Viveca are my second favorites. As long as you don't mind Emerald Sylvia being kind of double green. Augusta and Theodora (and Saskia) are a little too earthy/warm/organic for Emerald.
Dorothea Emerald and Florence Emerald have similar vibes. I like them but they're not the style I'd choose.
Leonora Emerald is my favorite of these and it's the kind of style I'd think of first.

It sounds plain to me because of Emma and Emily's popularity, reminds me of Ruby, Opal, Crystal, Clover and also sounds beachy because of Emerald Isle.I tend to think it goes with Iris or Octavia. Other combos...Emerald Patience
Emerald Isobel
Emerald PaulineSomething Edwardian maybe.

I love Emerald because it feels so fresh and vibrant in comparison to the other gem names honestly, at least in my opinion. For instance Ruby, Crystal, Pearl all sound either older woman or middle-aged in nature. But Emerald sounds brand new and filled with possibilities. I am also a fan of Emeralda but people have told me in the past they don't like it because it just looks like a typo for Esmeralda which is fair. My favorite of your ideas are Emerald Florence, Emerald Vivica, Margaretta Emerald, Emerald Audrey, Emerald Saskia,* also side note now I'm thinking about Florence MargarettaOther Ideas: Emerald Cassandra, Emerald Faye, Emerald Neve, Emerald Fiona, Emerald Felicity, Emerald Wynn, Emerald Carlota** I myself have Emerald Faye on my long list

I like it very much, though I can’t 100% imagine it on a real person? I mainly associate it with Emerald Fennel, the actress who played Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown.

Emerald is growing on me, because it is so clunky. It reminds me of a huge, garish old ring that was obviously once considered quite glamorous but it's hard to see what the appeal was. It's that "ruld" bit at the end, it has the same energy as the dusty forgotten "beauty" of names like Mildred, Ethel, Opal, Blanche, Edith, etc. Overall I prefer Esmeralda but Emerald is still pretty neat.I wonder if pairing it with jazzier names might pep it up a bit, wake it up. I like it out front because it looks a bit "off" in the middle to me.Emerald Cleo
Emerald Iris
Emerald Avery
Emerald Inez
Emerald Octavia
Emerald Zelda
Emerald Sibyl
Emerald Irene
Emerald Eliza, oh I like that
Emerald Yvette
Emerald Esther
Emerald Ava
Emerald Esme
Emerald Colette
Emerald Coleen
Emerald Wanda
Emerald Maxine
Emerald Vera
Emerald Lucinda
Hmm I don't know if I've hit upon the magic that Emerald has the potential for here..... I know it's there!

Oh, I think fell in love with Emerald Lucinda! Of your other combos, I like...Emerald Cleo
Emerald Iris - I was considering this, but didn't include it due to its "wordiness"
Emerald Inez
Emerald Octavia
Emerald Zelda
Emerald Sibyl
Emerald Colette - though I find Colette a bit clunky
Emerald Maxine
Emerald Vera

Yep, gem-names can be quite appealing. Emerald and Ruby are two most usable stone-names imo.
And Emerald reminds me of old-fashioned Meraud and Maud to some extent, although it doesn't seem vintage to me.
