My Surname is Rennie and as far as I know we are a Sept of the clan MacDonell, I have always wondered why we don't have our own Clan, I know the Rennie's fought at Culloden, my family are from Fife but I believe the original Rennie's were from Angus or Forfar and Aberdeen. There are a lots of Rennie's in the Butcher trade, by coincidence I am a Butcher to trade.

I am also a Rennie from Fife. You are right about clan macdonnel. Rennie comes from son of reynold. First recording in Angus. Name comes from old Norse
