[Opinions] Re: Middle name for Elle
in reply to a message by erinelizabeth
I think a good 3 to 4 syllable name would be best for this. 1 syllable first names are harder to pair so I think that is why sometimes people avoid them. I myself have a 1 syllable FN but it isn't the end of the world haha. There are pairs to be had. I also think an Imabic name would be good for the middle which means the stress isn't on the first syllable. Like many french names for instance. There is a reason Marie is such a popular MN.

In general, I find a nice rule of thumb is to think of the last letter or sound of the FN, in this case it is of course L, and see which letters sound clunky and which letters sounds fine following it. For instance I avoided B names because L followed by B is a harsh sound. This isn't always the case, some combos still sound fine but it works for me and I think it is one of the ways to distinguish passable combos from great combos. Vowel names usually sound fine in the middle for instance.
L-A -fine
L-B- clunky
L-C- fine
L-D-a little clunky
L-E-fine
After you sort through which flow okay and which don't flow as well that helps you narrow it down for first initial of the 2nd name.GL!
