I like NN Mona, which reminds me of anemones.
I like Monica! Do I have any other comments... idk it's pretty. I used to hate it. I used it on a character based on the idea that I shouldn't only use names I like on characters - I should give them realistic names. Then what do you know, I ended up liking it. It's like a darker, more focused Jessica.
Monica Lewinsky, Monica Geller, etc....
To echo erb, the name doesn’t have many good namesakes. Even then the name is pretty plain and boring. Monique isn’t all that better either.

Nice
I love that it's saintly (Augustine's mom) but also plain as linoleum.
I never really liked Monica. I know a really sweet Monika but not even she could make me like the name. I have a similar problem with Andrea. Both names just don't appeal to me at all even though I know many nice people by these names.
I think I prefer Monique even though that is not a favorite either.
In general I don't really like most -ica names, I think it's an unattractive sound. I also don't really like Veronica, Jessica, Angelica, Annika etc.

This name is weirdly like white noise to me; it's just a blank space. I've never known any Monicas - only Moniques - yet Monica has the same taupe soul as Ashley to me, as though I grew up immersed in it. It's odd!
I have the same problem with this name as Jasmine: I like it, but bearers have ruined it. Bizarrely, just about every Monica I've ever spoken to - from a variety of backgrounds - has had a serious attitude problem; from school bullies to customers who want to complain to my manager about something ridiculous / out of my control. I don't know what it is about this name.
Edit: On the other hand, every Monique I've ever known (there have been a few) has been the exact opposite!

Boring, I like Monika more.
I like it, no-nonsense and quite practical. Though I greatly prefer the spelling Monika. :)
