It is sweet. The one possible issue would be pronunciation. Most English speakers pronounce it like Care-uh, but a few people want to pronounce it as Car-uh. It isn't too difficult to correct though.

I have very few thoughts because I find the name insubstantial and lifeless.

I can’t get past the fact it just means « dear » in my first language. I’d prefer Kara,

It's pronounced like the word for punishment in Polish, so I'm not a fan.

Extremely boring and dated

It's always seemed to be missing something. I've never liked it, though I don't think it's a bad name or anything. Maybe it's because I'm a Caroline, and Cara feels like somebody just cut off half my name? I much prefer Clara or Calla.

Eh, it’s alright. I have a really strong association with it though. I go to school with a Cara and she is always on and off with her boyfriend two years older than her and posts about it constantly on instagram (I’m too paranoid to unfollow her). She always has a falling out with her friends and it’s tiring just talking to her.

Same kind of name as Mia, but slightly better. I don't enjoy either of them; they seem flimsy.

I know a toddler Cara - I think it's very pretty and usable. I also like Carla

It’s lovely. I love Kara a little more but that’s a minor detail. Cara is very pretty.

I am weird Katrine in that I prefer C- for the beginning of C/K namees but prefer K for an ending. Ie. Bianka over Bianca, Veronika over Veronica, but also Catrina over Katrina or Catherine over Katherine.. though not exclusively of course

I love Cara. It's one of my conservative ideas of my SO doesn't let me use an elaborate name by the time I have children. It's very sweet and gentle without being overly popular like some of the other sweet and simple girly names popular at the moment.
