I didn’t use to care for it, but lately I’ve been liking it more and more.

For some reason I always associate it with trans people. Maybe it had feminine associations (springtime etc, though it's autumn where I live) without being too popular? I don't think of May as a month name, but with April I can't avoid it. I don't enjoy the name, and I don't know if it's better or worse to have April as a name and a birth date in that month or in one of the other eleven.

April is a bit of an oddball. She shouldn't have the sophistication that she does - I mean, she begins with the "ape" sound! But there's a reason the name was chosen for characters like April O'Neil and April Ludgate. It's no-nonsense and easy to remember, without being overly common.I'm actually using this name for one of the main characters in something I'm writing (that has been "in the works" / sidelined for entirely too long): she doesn't beat about the bush and is quite shrewd (as well as vengeful), though constantly underestimated. I think April works for her.

I like it. I've met a few Aprils, one being a close friend, all of whom are lovely and their name fits them.

I've never understood the appeal of this name. How did it get so popular? I don't even think it's ugly -- it just doesn't feel like a name to me.
