Funny, I have two cousins named Emrys and Gareth. Gareth was very common in the UK in the 80s and 90s. Tristan and Elaine also are well used names.

I keep forgetting Elaine is an Arthurian name, that one is also easy to fit into everyday life.
I suppose I should've also specified in my initial reply that I'm from the U.S., so I'm speaking of naming norms there. Gareth and Tristan both feel quite British to me. Emrys was a delight to see, though I doubt it's common outside of Wales...?

I'm from the US and I've met enough Tristans that it's boring to me now (I still like it but it doesn't feel as romantic as it used to before I met any IRL). Gareth... it does feel British but I wouldn't be surprised to see it here either.

It's not really common at all but Emrys doesn't have any trouble with it. His full name is Emrys Lee Daniel, he was given two common middle names just in case he decided he wanted a more common name to go by as he aged. He hasn't opted to go by ether of them as of yet.
