Help[Opinions] Re: Please suggest some Japanese names for my character

I have no idea what an appropriate Japanese highschooler name would be. With my luck I'd suggest the Japanese version of Gertrude or something.
That being said, I like the Japanese name Mirai. It means "the future" which I always thought was really lovely; hopeful and sad at the same time, which your character sort of sounds like too. Apparently it is kind of a dated trendy name.

Lots of interesting choices, and also great feedback from abbasdaughter, who I believe actually lived and worked in Japan.
Also someone I follow on IG has twin girls who are half Japanese and they have really cool names: Yurina and Miharu. No idea what they mean though!
