I've never liked Bethany. Don't enjoy place names. Maybe it's because Beth isn't used much as a nn for Elizabeth in the US?

I love Bethany so much! Bethany Rae is one of my all-time favorite girl combos.

Very pretty. It feels warm and nurturing. I've known a couple. But not nearly as many as some others. It fits right in with some of those more popular names. I'm not sure why it has been less popular. But it's probably a good thing in the long run.

I always liked it. My best friend in Oklahoma was/is Bethany.
Maybe it just got overlooked with all the Elizabeths? And sounded too similar to the Stephanies?

Oh, I didn't know it was never popular in the US. It was popular enough that it seems slightly dated to me (though not as much as Brittany seems dated).

I like it, seems spunky. The one I know was born in 1990 and all her siblings have biblical names.
The vibe I get is a little like Naomi + Annabel ÷ 2.
Or Elizabeth + Brittany ÷ 2.
Or Rebecca + Kathleen ÷ 2.

Maybe it was only moderately popular because it was competing with uber popular names like Elizabeth (which was more traditional/familiar) and Brittany (which was more fashionable/trendy). Bethany was the more obscure religious option and/or quirkier one of the group.

Bethany sounds so friendly, you can’t help liking her. I’d love to see it used more often!

I don't like it at all. I just really dislike the sound of it and, to be honest, any Bethanys I've known IRL have been a bit strange.

I like it. Beth is great too. I think it stood apart from Britney, Ashley Madison etc. It's more in the Heather, Nicole etc group (with distinction imo)
