[Opinions] Brodie and Cody
They aren't names that get discussed on here much but I actually quite like the sounds of Brodie and Cody for boys (not for brothers, though). I find them simple, unassumimg, yet strong names. WDTY of Brodie? WDYT of Cody? Are they dated now? Which spellings do you prefer? Brodie is more common than Brody in Australia for some reason so I'm used to it spelled that way and prefer it. I've seen a lot of kr8iv spellings for Cody but I like this spelling the best.

A bit dated. Cody more so. I would spell it Brody, but I'm not in Australia. They are okay though. I agree that they should not be for brothers though.

I'm quite fond of both of them myself, though I personally prefer the spelling of Brody. Looks more mature, even if the name itself isn't very. Of course Cody can easily be described the same way but I still like it, slightly more than Brody. I also have personal connections to it as it was the name of an infant brother of mine who sadly passed away many years ago. I always think back to him first whenever I see the name.

Hate them. Brodie just makes me think of “grody” and every Cody I’ve ever met was either a jerk or totally annoying. Cody is definitely dated in my book, because I know a million who are my approximate age and nobody in any other age group. Brodie I can picture on a kid today.

They sound like the worst pair of brats; a pair of six-year-olds who still throw themselves on the floor screaming and wetting themselves when something doesn't go their way, and their mothers whine at them "Brooooh-deee, pleeeeze staaaaahp" "Cooooh-dee, pleeeeze don't biiiite!"

I love the name Brody/Brodie! It sounds friendly and sporty (I guess how I imagine an Australian haha). I think the same can be said about Cody, although when I say I tend to say Codeine :s

Cody is sort of a GP of mine. Apparently this was the name of my best friend when I was like, 3. Maybe that's where my good feelings for this name come from. Cody just seems like the name of a nice person. It's cuddly. I would never use it, but I like it. I guess it is kind of dated. Brodie I hate. It means "ditch" apparently? Sounds about right.

I'm in Australia and seen Brody more, I've seen a few female Brodie's though, they are ok names but a little dated, but that's ok

I know a female Brodie as well!

I prefer Bodhi to Brodie. Brodie is too bro-y. Cody is boring and a little immature. If I were to pick something in the same vein I'd choose Casey or Cameron.

I'm just so so on both. No strong feelings either way. For some reason, Cody seems like a little boy's name to me, even though I do find it a bit dated. Brodie sounds more like a grownup.
