I adore Anne, it’s been on my top 10 for a very long time now. “Bland” perhaps, but not popular in the slightest (at least where I am). I think I’d call it understated and pretty over bland, though I like a lot of names perceived to be bland, like Mary and Jane.
I want to say Henry is the masculine version of Anne, but it’s still a popular and common name. The problem is that boy names don’t go out of style as easily as girl names do, so it’s hard to find a classic, familiar boy name that’s not still common.
