I don’t really know nor do I care but it’s likely not gonna drop out of the top 1000 list for girls either. I wouldn’t be surprised really.

Not being American, I can't predict its popularity. I haven't noticed an outbreak of Olivia people in South Africa, though I've known a few of asssorted ages.

I like Olivia very much. Twelfth Night is one of my favourite plays, which helps. I also had a distant relative, born in the very early 1900s, whose name was Olivia; this showed considerable originality on the part of her parents, but she was always known as Olive, nn Ollie, which I don't enjoy at all. I think she missed a wonderful opportunity to be really distinctive.

I've always liked the sound of Olivia. I had a very good friend in childhood names Olivia, a few years younger than I (who was a social outcast and a little... emotionally "behind," I guess, which is why I was hanging out with someone at least 3 years younger when I was in middle school). Her parents were a bit ahead of the curve, I think, because Olivia's popularity had not yet soared near to the heights it would.

But now I hear it on little girls all the time. I think it has been the #1 name in my state (Illinois) for a while, but now is #1 nationally, too. And the sound had become played out, so I'll never use it. :-(

I sometimes wonder if the character Detective Olivia Benson from Law and Order: SVU had a hand in increasing the popularity of the name.

It’s been popular/overused in Australia for longer, and I’m over it. I think it has similar sound/rhythm to Sophia but I find Sophia more “classic” than Olivia.

I think it's pretty. I'd use it. I think it'll stay popular for a long time because it's so beautiful.

It’s just boring now. Plus I don’t really like the sound.

I've never been a fan of Olivia. It's not an ugly name to look at or say, I just don't really like it. It'll drop in popularity eventually, not sure if it'll be in the next year or two though.

I don't really get the appeal. It's not terrible, but to me it's always had a slick, slithery sound, like cheap nylon fake-silk. (So does Vivian.) Also, it reminds me of liver, same as Oliver.

I've never met an Olivia but I think its a pretty name, I like the NNs Ollie and Livy

I haven’t met an Olivia since I was a child and I remember thinking how fancy her and her sister’s names were Imogen and Olivia.

The wife of Robert Lord Baden-Powell the founder of scouting and guiding was Olave Lady Baden-Powell. This has resulted in our youngest section Rainbows (5-7) having a character in their books and as doll in the units called Olivia. My unit pull names out a hat to make sure every girl gets a turn twice a year to take Olivia home but they always fight over it. You hear it so often I’m bored of it now but I don’t dislike the name.

I liked it at one time. But I know so many and hear it so often, I'm just tired of it. The bloom has gone off the rose, so to speak.

It's pretty. Astonishingly, I've never met one. I wouldn't be surprised if it stuck around for a few years. It could become the new Isabella very easily.
