Some talk of Alexander,
And some of Hercules;
of Hector and Lysander,
And such great names as these.
But of all the world's great heroes,
There's none that can compare,
To the tow-row-row-row-row-row-row
Of the British Grenadiers
That's what I think of when I hear Lysander - my Mum used to sing me this song when I was a wee little thing so it's the only context I had for the name for a long time.
I think it's nice, but perhaps not the easiest to wear.

It's one of my very favourite names.
It's ok
Reminds me of Bystander. No thanks.
I like it as a middle name but not a first name.
I want to like it, but I think it sounds like antiseptic or disease-related:
lysol, listeria
lysol, listeria
I’m not sure how to pronounce it. LIE-sander or LEE-sander?
When reading Shakespeare’s A Midsomer Nights Dream at school we pronounced it Liesander.

This name reminds me of a codpiece.
I think it could be a very nice middle name.
