Ariana and Brook have known each other since Ariana's family moved to Eugene when she was in sixth grade. Brook was the eighth grader assigned to show Ariana around the middle school and they clicked instantly. At the time, Ariana was already an out and proud bisexual young woman whereas Brook was fighting against the notion that she was a lesbian, though that quickly changed once both girls hit high school. They started dating when Ariana was fourteen and Brook was sixteen, took a short break when Brook graduated high school, and started dating again when Ariana joined Brook at University of Oregon.
The couple didn't get married until both had finished college and started jobs and gained some sense of financial independence. Brook insisted, despite Ariana begging for years (from the time she turned twenty-one!) to just jump right in and get married.
As a wedding gift, Brook's eccentric aunt gave the young couple a beautiful parrot named Peridot. It gave them a good chuckle at first, but they have since come to love the funky bird. Peridot loves to bug them until they give her attention at which point she will spout off the one phrase she knows how to say, "Love you!" Ariana gets a kick out of it.

The first year of marriage took a bit of a toll on Brook as she learned to balance her personal life and her work. Her fashion magazine had just started to gain some traction when she and Ariana got married, which meant that Brook spent a lot of time working hard on that. With their sometimes conflicting work schedules, they started to see less of each other.
So, as a first anniversary gift, Ariana bought Brook a beautiful calico cat named Her Majesty, after seeing how stressed her wife can get. She helped Brook go through the process of getting Her Majesty certified as an emotional support animal, and since Brook runs the magazine, she started taking Her Majesty into work with her and promised to try and not let work overwhelm her as much anymore.

This past year, one of the de la Fuente-Adabayo's closest family friends passed away in a horrific car accident. The Nichols parents were driving home after a date night one night when a drunk driver ran them off the road, their car flipping. The father was killed instantly, but the mother lasted a few days in the ICU before passing.
Ariana and Brook had been denoted as the couple who would take in their three children if anything happened to them. Of course they welcomed Diana, Sable, and Sebastian into their home with open arms, adopting them as soon as the state would allow them to, keeping Nichols as a third middle name for all three kids.

Diana started showing interest in baking. One day after school, she was baking cupcakes to surprise her Mama Ari with when she returned from work. However, Diana got distracted and the oven caught fire. Brook and the three small kids made it out of the house in time, but the fire burned hot and fast. They ended up having to rebuild, having lost almost everything.

Ariana has worked her butt off in the ER and got her first pay raise this year! It couldn't have come at a better time, as the family still continues to rebuild their life after losing their home last year. Plus, it encouraged Ariana, reminding her that there is a reason that she does her job and that's to help people.

Brooklyn has been working herself to the bone, pushing herself harder and harder to keep the magazine running and thriving as it has done for the last eight or so years. In pushing herself so, she wound up catching a cold that quickly turned into a serious case of pneumonia, winding her up in the hospital for a short turn. Turns out, that hospital stay saved her life. The tests ended up showing that she had cancer. However, Brook is a fighter and she pushed through all the treatments and has come out the other side victorious!

With the Nichols kids a little older now, Ariana and Brook decided to expand their family. They ended up paired with a young struggling teen mother. She ended up giving birth to twins, a baby boy and a baby girl, that Ariana and Brook gladly welcomed into their little family.

Ariana's mom came to live with the family this year. It's been nearly ten years since Ari's dad passed away and most of her siblings moved out of the area and with Luz approaching seventy, Ari felt better knowing her mom would be close. Plus, it gives Luz more time with the grandkids (and Ariana and Brook some additional help).

Sable has been having trouble at school. After telling Ariana and Brook that fae is nonbinary (and introduced faer new pronouns proudly!), Sable started trying to get faer friends and classmates to use them at school too. However, a lot of the kids laughed at faer and started teasing Sable. This resulted in a physical altercation that wound up with Sable needing a quick trip to the urgent care. Sable gave the bully a black eye and the bully shoved faer hard enough that fae broke faer arm from falling.

When Brook thought she would be celebrating four years in remission from cancer, she and Ariana planned a party. They started planning it months in advance. But then Brook started feeling sick again. Returning to her oncologist for a check up, they discovered that the cancer had returned. They cancelled the party.

With Deshawn and Nat now four and Brook's cancer being under control again, Brook and Ariana decided to adopt again. This time, they adopted an eleven year old girl from India. Gayathri quickly settled into the family, hitting it off with Sebastian.

As the bullying of Sable continued, fae fell down a rabbit hole of anxiety and depression. Sable confided in Ariana and Brook that fae wished fae were dead sometimes. They found fae a good therapist who suggested that they get fae an emotional support animal of faer own, like Brook's cat Her Majesty. Fae got really excited and picked out a white Persian mix that fae named Tinkerbell.

Diana recently graduated high school and started college, studying music, specifically composition. She has dreams of writing the next big ballet or musical. However, just before her high school graduation, she found out that her prom night hookup and resulted in a pregnancy. With the support of Ariana and Brook, Diana chose to keep the baby. She had a little girl she named Nicole Ariadne Leticia, after her deceased parents and the two women who raised her.

With their older siblings starting to go off to college and disconnect from the family, Deshawn and Nat asked to get a pet of their own. Since they're only eight, Ariana and Brook decided that the twins could each get a betta fish. They chose to name them Bert and Mary Poppins (despite both of them being male).
Diana was walking home from class one night, Nicole staying with her grandmothers, when she got mugged and had her wallet stolen. After waking up in the hospital, eye swollen and arm wrapped in a cast, Diana started crying, confessing that she had already felt unsafe in her off campus neighbor but this really took the cake. Damian asked her to move in with him right then and there.

After her magazine won that big award a few years ago, Brook's work started getting noticed by the big wigs... to the point that she recently got hired as the new editor at Vogue! It meant packing the entire family up and moving all the way across the country, but it was worth it. Ariana found another nursing job in the city and they found good schools for the kids. Even Luz tagged along. Sable and Diana decided to stay back in Eugene, however, since that's where their lives and schools and relationships were all based.
Diana especially had reason to stay when she found out that she was pregnant... and then that she was having twins... and then that she was actually having triplets! Damian married her as soon as he could after that, just to make sure that he would always be able to be there for her.
Haiden and Sable's relationship has been going strong. The couple recently moved in together after Haiden told their parents that they were dating a fellow nonbinary student at school. Haiden's parents didn't take it as well as they liked, but it didn't matter to them as much because they had Sable and loved fae very much. That being said, once the couple moved in together, Haiden started taking art lessons... and quickly turned it into a little side hustle.

Indy came home from school one day, sobbing and begging her parents for help. When she finally calmed down, she told them about the girl she had just started dating. Honey Morisette's parents were extremely conservative and Christian and when they found out that Honey had gone on a few dates with (and, god forbid, kissed) a girl, her father beat her and threw her out of the house. Before Indy could even ask, Ariana and Brook told her to invite Honey to live with them.
Damian recently entered a big culinary contest. It took everything he had: money, energy, attention. Which unfortunately left Diana with all four of their kids all on her own most of the time. But his hard work paid off! He won the competition, the prize being a lot of money. They had enough to put a down payment on a house.
Sable and Haiden have really settled into this cohabitation thing. They have a nice routine going, where the two switch on and off cooking and cleaning duties. On nights that Sable has late classes, Haiden cooks for fae and when Haiden has late classes, Sable cooks for them. They make quite the good little team, and their new pet hamster, Hamilton, has to agree.

With her position at Vogue, Brook has been able to cover so many more things now than before, including fun trips like vacations to Hawaii or Fiji or Greece. This year, Brook took everyone, including Sable, Haiden, Diana, Damiana, and the grandkids out in Oregon, on a big trip to India to visit Indy's birth place.
With Damian's imminent graduation (if perhaps slightly delayed due to four kids), he was hired directly by a small startup restaurant. The owner had years and years of experience under his belt and he liked Damian's style and personality. The duo work together like a dream!
Unfortunately, the rains were heavier this year, resulting in lots of flooding. Many buildings incurred damage, including Haiden and Sable's apartment building. They moved in with Diana and Damian for a bit, offering their services as free childcare in return for room and board.

With most of their kids out of the house now, Ariana and Brook started feeling a little like empty nesters and decided to fix that by adopting again. They got paired with an Afghani boy named Rahim. Deshawn took the little boy under his wing and Ray seems to be making the adjustment quite well.
Damian's old boss recently suggested him for a much better, more prestigious position. The interview process required Damian to fly across the country to meet up with the restaurant owner, but in the end, the entire Grandison family packed up and moved from Eugene, Oregon, to Phildelphia because Damian got the job!
Sebastian recently started dating and quickly moved in with his new girlfriend, Mari Konami. Sebastian and Mari met through Indy and Honey who knew her through the LGBTQ+ group on campus at their college. The couple barely started dating before they moved in together and got a cat. Mari named her Koko.
Fortunately for Sable and Haiden, after the flooding damaged their house, they unexpectedly received a large amount of money from an anonymous "donor," though Sable suspects it to be from one of their older, richer LGBTQ+ friends. It was enough to buy a house instead of returning to their old, now damaged apartment.
Indy has had... a bit of a year. While out with Honey, some guy drugged Indy's drink when Honey was out on the dance floor. Indy went missing for a few hours, sending Honey into a panic attack. Indy eventually turned up at their apartment, much worse for the wear. She couldn't remember anything that had happened. When Indy started feeling sick and was told she was pregnant, she almost had an abortion. How could she keep that baby? But Honey talked to her and promised Indy that they could raise the baby together. Indy ended up giving birth to a little boy and giving him Honey's last name.

With her continuing successful career, Brook recently flew out all the kids and grandkids to NYC for something she still can't believe happened: a cover shoot for an article about her and her family and her career. It was something she had dreamed of happening for most of her life, but never thought it was possible for a variety of reasons. When the issue came out, she framed it.
Unfortunately, Sebastian and Mari had a huge falling out. Mari asked Sebastian what he would think of she said that she was potentially polyamorous and wanted to bring a third person into their relationship. Sebastian balked at the idea, stating plainly that he never saw himself in that kind of relationship and that he didn't think he could stand being in that kind of relationship with someone else. Without saying much else, Mari packed up her things and left.
Damian's hard work has continued to pay off. His winning personality seems to mesh perfectly with anyone he works with, his current boss being no exception. The man recently gave Damian a huge pay raise, bigger than Damian ever expected to make.
Sable and Haiden have been going strong still. As an anniversary present, Haiden bought Sable something fae has wanted for faer entire life: a puppy! Haiden splurged a bit a bought a corgi, knowing it was Sable's favorite breed. Together, they named the dog Murphy.
With Connor now one, Honey admitted to Indy that one of her biggest dreams in life had always been to have a baby herself. She confessed that perhaps part of that came from her ultra conservative up bringing, but watching Indy go through it (at least the positives) with Connor, made her want to go through with it again. She admitted she had been saving up a fund for IVF since she realized she didn't like boys and therefore could never happily conceive naturally. The couple went into the fertility offices together and shortly after, Honey found out she was pregnant. She had a little girl, Hailey Hannah.

Ariana and Brook have known each other since Ariana's family moved to Eugene when she was in sixth grade. Brook was the eighth grader assigned to show Ariana around the middle school and they clicked instantly. At the time, Ariana was already an out and proud bisexual young woman whereas Brook was fighting against the notion that she was a lesbian, though that quickly changed once both girls hit high school. They started dating when Ariana was fourteen and Brook was sixteen, took a short break when Brook graduated high school, and started dating again when Ariana joined Brook at University of Oregon.
The couple didn't get married until both had finished college and started jobs and gained some sense of financial independence. Brook insisted, despite Ariana begging for years (from the time she turned twenty-one!) to just jump right in and get married.
As a wedding gift, Brook's eccentric aunt gave the young couple a beautiful parrot named Peridot. It gave them a good chuckle at first, but they have since come to love the funky bird. Peridot loves to bug them until they give her attention at which point she will spout off the one phrase she knows how to say, "Love you!" Ariana gets a kick out of it.

The first year of marriage took a bit of a toll on Brook as she learned to balance her personal life and her work. Her fashion magazine had just started to gain some traction when she and Ariana got married, which meant that Brook spent a lot of time working hard on that. With their sometimes conflicting work schedules, they started to see less of each other.
So, as a first anniversary gift, Ariana bought Brook a beautiful calico cat named Her Majesty, after seeing how stressed her wife can get. She helped Brook go through the process of getting Her Majesty certified as an emotional support animal, and since Brook runs the magazine, she started taking Her Majesty into work with her and promised to try and not let work overwhelm her as much anymore.

This past year, one of the de la Fuente-Adabayo's closest family friends passed away in a horrific car accident. The Nichols parents were driving home after a date night one night when a drunk driver ran them off the road, their car flipping. The father was killed instantly, but the mother lasted a few days in the ICU before passing.
Ariana and Brook had been denoted as the couple who would take in their three children if anything happened to them. Of course they welcomed Diana, Sable, and Sebastian into their home with open arms, adopting them as soon as the state would allow them to, keeping Nichols as a third middle name for all three kids.

Brooklyn has been working herself to the bone, pushing herself harder and harder to keep the magazine running and thriving as it has done for the last eight or so years. In pushing herself so, she wound up catching a cold that quickly turned into a serious case of pneumonia, winding her up in the hospital for a short turn. Turns out, that hospital stay saved her life. The tests ended up showing that she had cancer. However, Brook is a fighter and she pushed through all the treatments and has come out the other side victorious!

Sable has been having trouble at school. After telling Ariana and Brook that fae is nonbinary (and introduced faer new pronouns proudly!), Sable started trying to get faer friends and classmates to use them at school too. However, a lot of the kids laughed at faer and started teasing Sable. This resulted in a physical altercation that wound up with Sable needing a quick trip to the urgent care. Sable gave the bully a black eye and the bully shoved faer hard enough that fae broke faer arm from falling.

With their older siblings starting to go off to college and disconnect from the family, Deshawn and Nat asked to get a pet of their own. Since they're only eight, Ariana and Brook decided that the twins could each get a betta fish. They chose to name them Bert and Mary Poppins (despite both of them being male).
Diana was walking home from class one night, Nicole staying with her grandmothers, when she got mugged and had her wallet stolen. After waking up in the hospital, eye swollen and arm wrapped in a cast, Diana started crying, confessing that she had already felt unsafe in her off campus neighbor but this really took the cake. Damian asked her to move in with him right then and there.

After her magazine won that big award a few years ago, Brook's work started getting noticed by the big wigs... to the point that she recently got hired as the new editor at Vogue! It meant packing the entire family up and moving all the way across the country, but it was worth it. Ariana found another nursing job in the city and they found good schools for the kids. Even Luz tagged along. Sable and Diana decided to stay back in Eugene, however, since that's where their lives and schools and relationships were all based.
Diana especially had reason to stay when she found out that she was pregnant... and then that she was having twins... and then that she was actually having triplets! Damian married her as soon as he could after that, just to make sure that he would always be able to be there for her.
Haiden and Sable's relationship has been going strong. The couple recently moved in together after Haiden told their parents that they were dating a fellow nonbinary student at school. Haiden's parents didn't take it as well as they liked, but it didn't matter to them as much because they had Sable and loved fae very much. That being said, once the couple moved in together, Haiden started taking art lessons... and quickly turned it into a little side hustle.

Indy came home from school one day, sobbing and begging her parents for help. When she finally calmed down, she told them about the girl she had just started dating. Honey Morisette's parents were extremely conservative and Christian and when they found out that Honey had gone on a few dates with (and, god forbid, kissed) a girl, her father beat her and threw her out of the house. Before Indy could even ask, Ariana and Brook told her to invite Honey to live with them.
Damian recently entered a big culinary contest. It took everything he had: money, energy, attention. Which unfortunately left Diana with all four of their kids all on her own most of the time. But his hard work paid off! He won the competition, the prize being a lot of money. They had enough to put a down payment on a house.
Sable and Haiden have really settled into this cohabitation thing. They have a nice routine going, where the two switch on and off cooking and cleaning duties. On nights that Sable has late classes, Haiden cooks for fae and when Haiden has late classes, Sable cooks for them. They make quite the good little team, and their new pet hamster, Hamilton, has to agree.

With her position at Vogue, Brook has been able to cover so many more things now than before, including fun trips like vacations to Hawaii or Fiji or Greece. This year, Brook took everyone, including Sable, Haiden, Diana, Damiana, and the grandkids out in Oregon, on a big trip to India to visit Indy's birth place.
With Damian's imminent graduation (if perhaps slightly delayed due to four kids), he was hired directly by a small startup restaurant. The owner had years and years of experience under his belt and he liked Damian's style and personality. The duo work together like a dream!
Unfortunately, the rains were heavier this year, resulting in lots of flooding. Many buildings incurred damage, including Haiden and Sable's apartment building. They moved in with Diana and Damian for a bit, offering their services as free childcare in return for room and board.

With most of their kids out of the house now, Ariana and Brook started feeling a little like empty nesters and decided to fix that by adopting again. They got paired with an Afghani boy named Rahim. Deshawn took the little boy under his wing and Ray seems to be making the adjustment quite well.
Damian's old boss recently suggested him for a much better, more prestigious position. The interview process required Damian to fly across the country to meet up with the restaurant owner, but in the end, the entire Grandison family packed up and moved from Eugene, Oregon, to Phildelphia because Damian got the job!
Sebastian recently started dating and quickly moved in with his new girlfriend, Mari Konami. Sebastian and Mari met through Indy and Honey who knew her through the LGBTQ+ group on campus at their college. The couple barely started dating before they moved in together and got a cat. Mari named her Koko.
Fortunately for Sable and Haiden, after the flooding damaged their house, they unexpectedly received a large amount of money from an anonymous "donor," though Sable suspects it to be from one of their older, richer LGBTQ+ friends. It was enough to buy a house instead of returning to their old, now damaged apartment.
Indy has had... a bit of a year. While out with Honey, some guy drugged Indy's drink when Honey was out on the dance floor. Indy went missing for a few hours, sending Honey into a panic attack. Indy eventually turned up at their apartment, much worse for the wear. She couldn't remember anything that had happened. When Indy started feeling sick and was told she was pregnant, she almost had an abortion. How could she keep that baby? But Honey talked to her and promised Indy that they could raise the baby together. Indy ended up giving birth to a little boy and giving him Honey's last name.

With her continuing successful career, Brook recently flew out all the kids and grandkids to NYC for something she still can't believe happened: a cover shoot for an article about her and her family and her career. It was something she had dreamed of happening for most of her life, but never thought it was possible for a variety of reasons. When the issue came out, she framed it.
Unfortunately, Sebastian and Mari had a huge falling out. Mari asked Sebastian what he would think of she said that she was potentially polyamorous and wanted to bring a third person into their relationship. Sebastian balked at the idea, stating plainly that he never saw himself in that kind of relationship and that he didn't think he could stand being in that kind of relationship with someone else. Without saying much else, Mari packed up her things and left.
Damian's hard work has continued to pay off. His winning personality seems to mesh perfectly with anyone he works with, his current boss being no exception. The man recently gave Damian a huge pay raise, bigger than Damian ever expected to make.
Sable and Haiden have been going strong still. As an anniversary present, Haiden bought Sable something fae has wanted for faer entire life: a puppy! Haiden splurged a bit a bought a corgi, knowing it was Sable's favorite breed. Together, they named the dog Murphy.
With Connor now one, Honey admitted to Indy that one of her biggest dreams in life had always been to have a baby herself. She confessed that perhaps part of that came from her ultra conservative up bringing, but watching Indy go through it (at least the positives) with Connor, made her want to go through with it again. She admitted she had been saving up a fund for IVF since she realized she didn't like boys and therefore could never happily conceive naturally. The couple went into the fertility offices together and shortly after, Honey found out she was pregnant. She had a little girl, Hailey Hannah.
