[Opinions] Whitney (more)

To be honest, I liked all of them at some point. At the moment I dislike all of them. It's like sometimes I can see why people liked them back when they were popular and how the names must have seemed before they exploded and then rapidly fell in popularity. But now I mostly have an 80s/90s cheerleader association.
Brittany - this wouldn't be so bad if everyone pronounced it with three syllables. The region in France is beautiful. However, BRIT-nee sounds awful to me and I think it would be hard to enforce the three syllable pronunciation. I also hate the nickname Britt or Brittie. I feel like this has aged the worst even though it was the last one of the bunch to become popular.
Tiffany - sometimes I can still feel its 80s glamour. I hate Tiff and Tiffy. But it is nice that it has a long history, having been used on girls who were born on the epiphany. It gives it more depth and meaning than Brittany. But the sound is so 80s cheerleader and I feel it has a bit of a tacky image, similar to Crystal's, due to its association with the store.
Kimberly - again I dislike Kim and Kimmy. Especially Kimmy, it is awful. It reminds me of diamonds, because of the diamond town (I think spelled Kimberley). But it feels so tired.
Whitney - a bit Whitney Houston but not overly so. I think I'd choose this. It is also dated but doesn't feel tacky.
I have a soft spot for all of them, in a way. I think I'd go with Whitney. I dislike Whit but my guess is that it is not so likely to get shortened. "White island" is also quite a nice meaning. Makes me think of those white chalk cliffs and a beautiful island in the North. It feels less dated. For some reason, when I think of the names in relation to a future daughter I don't think that Whitney would fit her so well and I'd lean more towards Tiffany (never shortened). It's weird but when I imagine my future children I kind of feel like their souls are a certain way and that, even though none of the names would really fit her, she feels the most like a Tiffany (but I could be totally wrong and she could be completely different). I guess if I had to choose it for a daughter I'd wait until she was born and then I'd decide what she'd feel like the most.
My least favorite...hard to choose. I guess Brittany but then again I love the region of France so at least it has some meaning. So I say Kimberly.
