[Opinions] Kelly
What do you think of the name Kelly and do you prefer it on a boy or girl. Would you say it’s dated? What would you think of a boy called Jack Kelly? Does it have an Irish vibe to you?

Hate it on both genders, but especially on girls. It sounds dated yet immature and whiny at the same time.
I love it as a middle name for both boys and girls. It makes me think of kelly green, in a positive way.
Jack Kelly does have a rugged, explorer sort of vibe. I like it!

Hate hate hate
I find it so insubstantial. It's marginally better on a boy, but there are a thousand male names I'd consider before Kelly.
ETA: Jack Kelly utterly fails as a combo because of the clashing "k" sounds. John Kelly "Jack" would work, though.

I mainly think of it as a girl name because that was my first encounter with it. But I’m not hating it on a boy, by any stretch. FWIW, I find that a lot fresher on a boy, whereas I do think it’s somewhat dated on a girl.
I like the sound of Kelly and “Jack Kelly” sounds like a good fit. That said, it reminds me of Grace Kelly’s dad.

It feels very dated on girls. Much less so on boys. And I have a male relative named Kelly. So all in all I prefer it on boys. Jack Kelly is nice and does sound a bit Irish.
I like it much more on a boy. It's not a favorite or anything, but it's likeable. Jack Kelly is nice and has a vaguely Irish feel to it, but not as much as Kelly as a first name would.
Kelly on a girl is kind of sad and faded to me. It seems like the kind of name you'd go to a mall to pick out.

The only Kelly’s (one spelled Keli) I know are approaching 50. Two male two female. In today’s world, it feels more feminine but when you put it with Jack I don’t feel that way. I rather like the combo.
It just seems very dated to me. Jack Kelly sounds like an Irish American mobster.
I prefer it for a girl, although ad a mn it would be ok
