Year 1: Anthony's grandmother dies and the couple receives inheritance money. They use it to buy a new car, as they haven't been able to afford one. They also donate a piece of it to an orphanage they both support.

-Francesca got hired as a photographer by a local newspaper company shortly after she was laid off by her film company, so that is what she does currently.
-Anthony stopped working in the Air Force eight years ago when his knee was injured and he could no longer pass the physical examination. He went back to college and got a degree in education, so has been teaching for the past five years.
-Astrid recently graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in journalism and she has been hired as a traveling journalist for a TV station near Dallas. She is also a gymnast, and is very competitive. She met her boyfriend, Oliver, at a gymnastic event. Oliver is a gymnastics coach in Dallas.
-Elias is currently in college. He got a full scholarship and is attending the University of Texas at Austin, where he plans to become a music teacher.
-Matteo is a senior in high school. He is in chorus and generally gets the solo parts. He also has the lead role in the school musical this year, and wants to be an actor after college.
-Penny is a junior in high school. She is on the volleyball team, but other than that does no extra-curricular activities. She is planning on joining the Navy after graduating from high school.
