I like it. It gives me a vaguely classic but also short/cute vibe, so probably more Peter Pan, but not specifically Peter Pan. Wendy seems to go with names like Molly, Polly, Jane, Jenny, Mary, Maggie, Meggie, Lucy, Ruby, Rosie, Ginny, etc.

ETA: I don't think the Wendy's association is that strong for me because I just think of the fast food chain as "Wendy's", not "Wendy" + "'s" if that makes sense. Like if I met a Wendy Smith and a Joe McDonald, the latter would make me think of McDonalds but the former wouldn't make me think of Wendy's.

Also, in my accent Wendy starts to drift toward "windy". If it was my name or my kid's name I'd feel like I'd always need to make an effort to keep the pronunciation firmly on the "WENdy" side. I like saying it that way but it might feel a little pretentious, like I was making too big a deal out of pronouncing it properly.

I have always loved this name. To be fair, I - as a non american - only associate it with Wendy Darling.

I think first of my mom's cousin, then of Wendy Darling, and then of the fast food restaurant!

I think it's super cute, but I do think it's a bit dated (at least in the US...it's in the top 300 in France!), but I hope it makes a comeback, perhaps as an alternate nickname for Gwendolyn, rather than using Gwen :)

Wendy is charming. It reminds me of Peter Pan. I didn't think of fast food until you mentioned it.

I just think of the restaurant. Other than that, it has the same feel as Sally to me.

As non american who didn't grow up with disney I associate it more with the many teachers I knew of that name, I swear its such a middle aged year 4 teachers name. Like I could never imagine it on a child, doesn't age well imo.

I think it's an adorable name. It's been well-known for long enough that the restaurant association is no worse than McDonald would be if someone had that last name.
It's not in style now but that's never bothered me.
I have a friend named Wendy. I sometimes call her Wendy Friendy for fun.

I don't think of it as dated because I only know a few Wendys and they're all of different ages. Also, one of my aunts is a Wendy :)

In terms of what I think of when I hear the name, first I think of my aunt, then Peter Pan, and then frostys. I love Wendy's frostys lol.

It seems very dated to me and I've never liked it in any case. It's always made me think of a child witch. I think the fast food association is stronger than the Peter Pan one.

I’m pretty neutral to it, but it’s seems pretty dated though. It makes me think of the restaurant more than anything.
