Vi and Letty must have passed with so many replies. More out of the box suggestions:
Plum / Plummie (bc of the colour)
Mauve (same reason)
Ola / Olé
Vita
Pansy (bc of the flower species)
ehm.. ehm.. Violet is a pretty hard one to get really cute names for. I think Plum is cute though as an accasional nickname. Letty / Lettie if it's supposed to be used as a more permanent serious nickname.
