I love the name Cynthia. It's classic and elegant IMO. But almost every Cynthia I've known has gone by Cindy. The one who didn't struggled to get people to call her Cynthia instead of Cindy.

I think Cynthia is pretty. Anyone of my generation may associate it with Angelica's doll in the Rugrats but it's a flimsy association and k e that would pass when I met a Cynthia. I never have!

The full name is okay, but very 50s dated. Cindy is pretty awful and I'm not sure it's avoidable. Cynthia Diane is extremely baby boomer, 50s. The name needs a middle name that is not dated.
