[Opinions] China
What are your thoughts on China as a name?
I don't like it.

GP. I like it as a name, considering the rhyming slang. But the country thing is too big.
Not my cup of tea.
The modern variant "Chyna" is worse..
I mean, it's the trend now with all these different spellings of names, which can be ridiculous, right?

I know a girl named China. She's blonde, a farm girl, not remotely cultured outside of her southeastern US upbringing. The name is incredibly ill-fitted to her. I usually like place names, but that one has been ruined for me.
I don't like it either. The sound just isn't attractive to me (that harsh "chai" sound), and it seems too.... on the nose.
It's not my favorite out of the country names.
Place I used to live.
Country, not name.
All I can see is Trump saying China, not good in my opinion !
A few years ago I did like the name. It’s the name of a detective in books my mum used to read.

I like it as far as the way it sounds, but I wouldn't use it because I have no ties with or interest in the country. Same with India.
No
No. It is a country, and it also reminds me of china dolls and china dishes, which are fragile and sit on the shelf because they are so easily broken.
It's kind of pretty, but at the same time it's also cheap and tacky sounding.
Rhyming slang for 'friend' - 'China plate' -> 'mate'. Apart from that, I dislike the names of countries being used for humans. And vice versa, come to think of it.
Don’t like it.
It reminds me of a lady at the bank I used to go to. I don’t remember the exact spelling but it was very weird.. something like Ashzia... and when I asked her how you pronounced her name she looked at me really weird and said “Ay-zha” (exactly like Asia)...

Nah. Though I do think the name Asia is pretty but seems out of place on someone not with Asian roots.
Hate it
